Vast Space Launches Haven-1: A New Era of Space Tourism
A Leap into Space Tourism
Vast Space has made history by completing Haven-1, the world’s first private space station. The station will launch by 2025. Unlike traditional stations, Haven-1 is designed for both astronauts and space tourists. Although ticket prices are still undisclosed, interested travelers can apply via Vast Space’s website. This marks a significant step forward in making space travel accessible to the public.
Futuristic Design and Key Features
Haven-1 is 10 meters long and 3 meters in diameter. It features a futuristic design, unlike the more functional International Space Station. Former Apple designers Hillary Coe and Peter Russell-Clark crafted the interior, creating a more comfortable and inviting space. The station will have a dome-shaped window, a hatch for easy access, and mass simulators to test load and pressure. These elements are currently being tested in California.
In 2028, Vast Space plans to launch Haven-2, which will connect with up to eight additional modules. This will expand the capabilities of the station and allow for even more space tourism opportunities.
The Growing Private Space Race
Vast Space is not the only company developing a private space station. Axiom Space, Blue Origin, and SpaceX are all working on their own stations. This competition shows how quickly the space tourism industry is growing.
Vast Space’s project brings private space exploration one step closer. It opens up new opportunities for both professional astronauts and tourists to experience space, marking the beginning of an exciting new chapter in space travel.
