ANYbotics Raises $60M to Propel Global Expansion of Inspection Robots

Autonomous robotics firm ANYbotics has raised $60 million in a funding round, pushing its total funding beyond $130 million. The Swiss-based company plans to utilize this investment to boost its global footprint and strengthen its presence in the U.S. market, alongside advancing the technological capabilities of its innovative inspection robots.

Scaling Up with Investor Support
“We are excited to partner with world-class investors as we accelerate our vision of revolutionizing industrial inspections through autonomous robotics,” said Dr. Péter Fankhauser, co-founder and CEO of ANYbotics. This funding will allow ANYbotics to scale its global operations, enhance AI functionalities, and deliver greater value to clients across diverse industries.

Innovations Powering ANYmal Robots
Founded in 2016 as a spin-off from ETH Zurich, ANYbotics has developed its ANYmal robots to tackle complex industrial inspections. The robots excel in automating real-time data collection, particularly in environments where human presence might be hazardous. Designed for tasks such as routine inspections, remote operations, and predictive maintenance, ANYmal reduces labor dependency and enhances workplace safety.

The company is enhancing the robots’ AI-driven analytics for anomaly detection and condition monitoring, significantly boosting operational efficiency. Advanced capabilities for real-time remote monitoring will further optimize maintenance operations, minimizing downtime and delivering actionable insights to clients.

ANYbotics also aims to expand ANYmal’s versatility by integrating advanced sensor arrays for thermal, acoustic, gas, and visual monitoring. These developments, combined with the robot’s durability and IP67 certification, secure its position as a leader in industrial-grade autonomous robotics.

Partnerships and Market Expansion
ANYbotics has collaborated with major global companies, including BP, Petrobras, Equinor, and Outokumpu, to streamline industrial operations with AI-driven robotics. Key technology partners such as AWS, NVIDIA, and Siemens Energy support the company’s mission by integrating cutting-edge systems into industrial environments worldwide.

This momentum has been bolstered by the company’s growing U.S. presence. A newly established Silicon Valley office enhances customer support and accelerates deployments across North America. CEO Fankhauser noted, “Having a local team significantly shortens sales cycles, especially in markets like the U.S., where customers demand rapid and reliable solutions.”

Funding and Vision for the Future
The $60 million funding round was co-led by Qualcomm Ventures and Supernova Invest, with participation from TDK Ventures and existing investors like Bessemer Venture Partners and Walden Catalyst. Fankhauser emphasized the importance of building a sustainable business model, noting the rising investor interest in AI-powered solutions for industrial applications.

Michel Glezer, director of Qualcomm Ventures Europe, highlighted the transformative impact of ANYbotics: “Their ability to address critical challenges in global industries solidifies their leadership in robotics innovation.”

ANYbotics plans to expand its team, currently comprising over 200 experts from 35 nationalities, to support global growth and improve customer engagement. The company is also investing in cybersecurity certifications and enhancing its software stack to extract more value from customer asset data.

Setting Benchmarks in Industrial Automation
With its out-of-the-box robotics solutions, ANYbotics continues to redefine industrial automation. Nicolas Sauvage, president of TDK Ventures, praised the company’s groundbreaking approach, adding, “ANYbotics is tackling some of the most pressing challenges in industrial automation, and the market’s response reflects the immense potential of their technology.”

As ANYbotics scales globally and broadens its technological horizons, the company remains committed to advancing safety, efficiency, and sustainability in industrial operations.
